Office Policies


To schedule an appointment, call 407-261-0000. You should allow 45-60 minutes for your initial consultation. Please arrive at our office about 20-30 minutes early to allow time for filling out the necessary medical information forms. If you fill out your form through the patient portal, or print these forms and fill them out before you come in, it will make things more efficient and save time. Please bring any records, laboratory test results and x-ray reports that might help us in evaluating your GI problem.

Patients will incur a $40.00 charge if they do not show up, reschedule, or cancel their appointment without 24 hour notice.


The Gastroenterology Group participates with Medicare and will file your Medicare and supplemental claims for you. If you are a member of an HMO or PPO that we participate in, we ask that you bring all necessary referral forms and your required copayment with you at the time of your visit. Payment for all other consultations and office visits is expected at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, personal checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express, and ApplePay.

Our insurance department is available to answer your questions from 9:00 am–5:00 pm Monday–Wednesday and 9:00 am-4:00 pm on Thursday by calling 407-261-1077.
Patients will incur a $40.00 charge for appointments that are not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance and a $100 charge for procedures.

As a patient of The Gastroenterology Group, your medical record is strictly confidential.  We will not release any information to anyone without your written authorization, according to the latest HIPPA regulations.



In the event of an emergency, call 911 or go to the emergency room. If it is not an emergency, then please call the office number and leave a message with our office staff, or the number provided if the call is made after hours, and the doctor will respond. Dr. Sprung is available seven days a week for your care.

Office Closures:

The Gastroenterology Group's office closes between Christmas, December 25, and New Years, January 1, annually. We reopen January 2. Please call in advance for prescription refills.

Phone Calls:

During office hours, our office staff can help you with routine questions and scheduling. Calls to schedule procedures should be made between 9:30 am–11:30 am. Any call that requires the doctor’s attention will be returned as soon as possible.


Please do not call the office directly for prescription refills. The most efficient and quickest way to renew medications is to call your pharmacy and ask them to fax us the request to 407-261-1000. We are unable to refill prescriptions at night or on weekends, since your medical records are not readily available to our doctor on call. In general, we will not approve refills if it has been more than 6 months since your last visit.

Specialty Practice:
The Gastroenterology Group concentrates its practice exclusively on the subspecialty of gastroenterology.
